Break up is usually hard to navigate, even if it happens amicably, even it happens for the best. That person who had become an important part of your life, who you thought would be with you till end of your life, now no longer being with you.
There is this sense of lost, of chewing the memories, of wishing things were different. One day, you have access to someone’s whole life, you know what’s going on with them, their thoughts, feelings and emotions, you can talk to them anytime, and have them listen to you as well. Another day, all of those are closed with you completely.
One day, you feel like you have someone to navigate life with, to make your existence less lonely, another day, that one is gone, you’re now on your own again.
You may regret starting that relationship at all. You may regret letting yourself getting abused, or you may regret hurting your ex partner. There might be consequences you still have to deal with.
You may want to just reach out to that person, to confront them, to talk to them, to find a way. Or you maybe in complete denial and just want to take them out of your memory.
What to do in that situation?
Appreciate the experience you had with that person. Appreciate the time that person dedicated to you, and you gave each other a chance.
Nothing was lost, you gained clarify, you learned lessons. You know better how to navigate relationships, you know better how to control yourself, manage your expectations.
You may want to talk to a friend, or a therapist, just to express your thoughts, emotions and feelings.
You may want to journal, exercise more, listening to music.
You may want to plan your future, drawing, focus on your work, having a walk.
